History of Bridgestone Australia
1995 - The widely successful RE92 65 series tyre range commenced manufacture at the Salisbury Tyre Plant. The tyre is to be supplied to Holden, Toyota and Mitsubishi in large volumes in coming years.
1996 - Bridgestone Ausralia Ltd. entered into a joint venture company with Toyoda Gosei Co., Ltd. of Nagoya, Japan. The new company is called Bridgestonne TG Australia Pty. Ltd. and manufactures a range of automotive components.
1998 - The Bridgestone "Donuts" tyre range is introduced.
1999 - Bridgestone was awarded the inaugural Mitsubishi Supplier of the Year award.
1999 - Bridgestone reduced its equity in BSTG from 60% to 49.45% on 1st October 1999.
