Helping Australian families
Blood cancers such as leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma can develop at any age, and any time. More than thirty five Australians are diagnosed with one of these types of cancer every day. The Leukaemia Foundation is committed to the care and cure of patients and families living with blood cancer and related blood disorders. We’re proud to support the mission of the Leukaemia Foundation as the Principal Partner for their annual Light the Night and Aussie Muscle Car Run events, which raise funds to support Australian families affected by blood cancer.
Patient Transport Vehicle Program
Funded by our Bridgestone Select and Bridgestone Service Centres, the Leukaemia Foundation Patient Transport Vehicle Program has been on the road since 1986. The program helps thousands of families across Australia travel to and from vital blood cancer treatments free of charge. Each year, Bridgestone Patient Transport Vehicles travel a combined distance of over 1.5 million kilometres – that’s more than 100 laps of Australia! For those living with blood cancer, these patient transport vehicles are more than just a way to get around. Whether it’s a friendly chat with a driver, a set of listening ears or even a joke along the way, the transport program makes treatment that little bit easier.

As part of our newest fundraising initiative, participating Bridgestone stores are now donating $2 to the Leukaemia Foundation for every Turanza Serenity Plus tyre sold. These funds will help provide transport services and treatment accommodation, as well as research towards finding a cure.
Light the Night
We're proud to be the Principal Partner of the Leukaemia Foundation’s annual Light the Night event. Light the Night is an event where Australians come together virtually from all over the country, to give hope to and raise funds for all those impacted by blood cancer. Individuals fundraise to receive an official lantern to light the night. Each lantern has a special meaning, for support, remembrance, or a personal journey.

Our partnership with the Leukaemia Foundation forms part of the People pillar within the Our Way to Serve initiative.
