Bridgestone Contributes to Earthquake Relief Effort

Tokyo (May 14, 2008) - Bridgestone Corporation ("Bridgestone") announced today that it decided to donate JPY 30 million to support relief efforts to the May 12 earthquake in China's Sichuan Province. The company made the donation through the Japan Red Cross.

Bridgestone (China) Investment Co., Ltd., the China subsidiary of Bridgestone, also decided to donate RMB 300,000 to support relief efforts through the China Red Cross.

The contributions by the Bridgestone Group companies to the earthquake relief effort reflect the companies' longstanding commitment to China. In 2004, Bridgestone established Bridgestone(China)Investment Co., Ltd. in Shanghai, which manufactures and markets tires in China and now operates nineteen plants in total of tire, diversified products and raw materials.
