The Bridgestone RE92 Tyre
The final delivery of the Bridgestone RE92 passenger tyre to GM Holden Ltd. (Holden) was made in late 2007 when production of the Holden VZ wagon ceased.
In excess of 5 million of these tyres have been supplied as standard fitment to the vehicle manufacturers in Australia over the past 12 years since the locally made premium tyre was first launched in 1995. Of the total number of tyres supplied to vehicle manufacturers during that period, over 3 million were supplied to Holden. This is testimony of Bridgestone's excellent reputation of manufacturing premium quality products at its Salisbury, South Australia tyre factory.
Bridgestone Australia Ltd.'s involvement in the supply of the first locally produced Bridgestone brand passenger tyres to Holden dates back to 1983.
Bridgestone is now supplying the new technology ER300 premium passenger tyre to Holden for fitment to new VE models and the 16" variant of this is also made at the Salisbury factory.
