Webber shows Red Bull promise

Australia's Mark Webber has shown the promise of the new Red Bull car in testing in Barcelona ahead of the new Formula 1 season.

Webber ended the latest test session just ahead of the McLaren duo of Heikki Kovalainen and Lewis Hamilton.

Robert Kubica rounded out the top four for BMW ahead of double world champion Fernando Alonso, who's firmly in the groove again with Renault.

Toro Rosso, the Red Bull sister team, continues to impress with Sebastien Bourdais and Sebastian Vettel both inside the top ten times.

Most disappointing again were the two Hondas of Rubens Barrichelo and Jenson Button with the Englishman almost one-and-a-half seconds slower than Webber.

All the teams were continuing to evaluate the Bridgestone Potenza tyres as Bridgestone begins its new three-year tenure as the Official Tyre Supplier to the World Championship.

The focus now shifts to Bahrain where Toyota and Ferrari will recommence their pre-season testing programs ahead of the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne on March 16th.
