Aussie-Made Duelers Join Bridgestone Range

Bridgestone Australia Ltd has further expanded its hugely popular Dueler D683 Highway Luxury tyre line-up with some Australian-made ingenuity.

The range now includes a 235/70R16 for vehicles such as Mazda Tribute/Ford Escape and a 265/70R16 for Toyota Landcruiser and Nissan Patrol.

Like many other sizes in the range, these tyres are now being manufactured at Bridgestone's Salisbury facility in South Australia to complement the imported product.

"We have been constantly adding to this popular range since its introduction onto the market and we?re proud to now be doing so with many Australian-made sizes," said Burkhard Kabelitz, Bridgestone?s National Technical Field Service & Product Planning Manager.

"The continued investment we have made at our Salisbury facility means it is ideally placed to manufacture many tyres in our range."

The D683 is solely supplied to the replacement market and incorporates Bridgestone?s innovative Donuts technology.

This technology means the Dueler D683 delivers a high level of ride comfort, low noise and excellent manoeuvrability.

The advanced tread block design - developed to provide uniform contact pressure between the tread and the road surface - increases tyre life by minimising irregular wear and gives greater road-holding and stability.

Earlier this year, Bridgestone introduced a 235/60R17 tyre to the D683 range to suit Ford Territory and Holden Captiva while the 215/60R16 was introduced in February to suit Subaru Outback and Forrester.

"The Dueler 683 range has become synonymous with passenger car like comfort, excellent handling on wet and dry roads, long wear life and excellent high speed stability and manoeuvrability," Kabelitz said.

"Its the tyre of choice for SUV vehicles in the urban market."
