Bridgestone Corporation donates to QLD Flood Appeal

Bridgestone Corporation Japan (BSJ) has officially announced that a donation of
JPY 5,000,000 (approximately A$62,000) will be made to The Premier's Disaster Relief
Appeal, which has been launched by the Queensland Premier to assist Queenslanders
affected by the recent floods.

Our Chairman and Managing Director, Mr Mieno, has confirmed that this very generous
payment will be made by BSJ to the Queensland relief appeal at a presentation ceremony
to be held at the Australian Embassy in Japan today. This amount is in addition to the
significant Company donation of $100,000 made recently to the Queensland Premier's
Flood Relief Appeal on behalf of Bridgestone Australia and New Zealand.

The Bridgestone family has been deeply shocked and saddened by the tragic events which
claimed the lives of so many and wreaked devastation throughout numerous communities
in Queensland. As previously advised, additional fundraising activities (the Bridgestone
Flood Appeal) will run across Australia and New Zealand until Friday, February 4th, with the
Bridgestone family collecting donations and holding a variety of fundraising activities in
support of flood relief efforts.

All monies raised from the fundraising activities will also be donated to The Premier's
Disaster Relief Appeal.

The Board and Executive extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to all who have
participated in any way to assist and support the people of Queensland on their very long
road to recovery.
