Bridgestone Strengthens RFT Offering with Firestone Firehawk SZ90μ
Bridgestone has been the global leader in run flat tyre technology since the launch of its first RFT product in 2002.
Following the release of the Bridgestone Potenza S001 RFT in 2012, Bridgestone has strengthened its coverage of the run flat segment with the launch of the Firestone Firehawk SZ90μ RFT.
"The Firehawk SZ90μ RFT appeals to vehicle owners whose cars were originally fitted with run-flat tyres when new and now require second or third sets of replacement tyres," said Ken Oyama, Bridgestone Australia's Director of Sales and Marketing.
"These types of owners are looking for value for money, but still like to choose a familiar brand they can trust. Firehawk SZ90μ RFT perfectly complements our existing product line up as it delivers the safety and convenience of RFT at a price level that will appeal to value conscious buyers".
The Firestone Firehawk SZ90μ RFT features technology including:
- A Centre Groove 3D Tie Bar which improves block stiffness for maximum cornering control and traction;
- New ‘μ' shoulder block for optimum grip levels and steering response; and
- ‘F1' Nose tread pattern for outstanding wet-weather performance.
"The Firehawk SZ90μ benefits from the technology which has made Bridgestone the leader in run flat technology around the world. It's a great product for drivers of cars such as the BMW E90 series of vehicles who are looking for a quality tyre without compromising on a cheap import," said Claudio Sodano, Bridgestone's National Technical Field Service Manager.
"In addition, the Firehawk SZ90μ RFT is a repairable RFT tyre which further enhances its value-for-money proposition."
The Firestone Firehawk SZ90μ RFT is available from January 2013 in a range of sizes from 16 to 18-inch to suit BMW E87 to E92 vehicles (1, 3 and 5 Series) plus the Mini R55 Cooper.
