Through such partnerships with renowned car names – and through the use of proprietary virtual tyre modelling – we have been able to come up with exciting Potenza variants, in a shorter development time, using less resources.
This has helped us excel and produce consistent strong showings against competing tyres. In tests carried out by independent TÜV SÜD in 2020 for example, the Potenza posted the best lap times with judges highlighting the “almost perfect handling characteristics”, as a key factor. Other independent tests from the Auto bild and Asia’s Ultimate Tyres Award (AUTA) have led to similar conclusions, with Bridgestone winning the 2022 Ultra High Performance and Overall Tyre of the Year.

For example, we are looking to participate in more endurance-type races, like the Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Race. Also, the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge is aligned with this goal, with sustainability its core motivation.
