Fuel efficiency, for one, is increased with Low Rolling Resistance (LRR). Using lighter material proprietary composites, our tyres deliver greater fuel efficiency on the go.

Retread/Bandag

Creating efficiencies in retreading to minimise wastage, produce longer-lasting tyres.

The retreading process is an economical and sustainable practice of using less materials and resources to achieve greater efficiency in the manufacturing process.
This is a boon to fleet operators because compared to the production of a new tyre, retreading improves the wear life of a tyre, prolongs its usage and delays its replacement.

This translates to considerable cost-efficiency savings and enhanced business productivity, with less frequent tyre replacements and less vehicle downtime.

Tirematics

Ensuring greater operational efficiency, with digital monitoring solutions for more vehicle uptime.

For fleet businesses, ensuring the operational efficiency and safety of their fleet drivers is critical to containing overhead costs. Maximising vehicle uptime on the road and minimising downtime due to breakdowns, accidents and road conditions are key issues surrounding fleet management.

TIREMATICS
Traditional tyre inspections are also labour-intensive as they immobilise vehicles with no empirical evidence of inspection. With Tirematics tyre sensors, users can receive alerts via email or SMS seamlessly on any device. Such a process removes labour-intensive inspections from the equation.

With Tirematics’ advanced measurement system, all issues are addressed before the vehicles leave the depot. Fleet managers and engineers can keep maintenance operations running at an optimal level, minimising downtime due to tyre mishaps or accidents.

Bridgestone World Solar Challenge

In the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge (BWSC), young engineers use solar power to design and build the most innovative, efficient and durable solar-powered vehicles possible.

BRIDGESTONE WORLD SOLAR CHALLENGE
Within three classes – Challenger, Cruiser and Adventure – they work at producing the most efficient car based on its body, design and battery lifespan to withstand a punishing 3,000km route through the Australian outback. The teams are motivated to challenge the conventions of vehicle design, in their quest for supreme efficiency.

For example, a reduced body weight and advanced lightweight materials enable the car to travel further and faster. Car design too is considered to best harness solar power, while the battery lifespan is configured to maximise solar energy storage.

Such detailing allows the BWSC to have positive flow-on effects for the automotive industry as it develops the capability to produce even more efficient vehicles with every event.
