Subject: QLD lockdown update

Latest Information

It was officially announced this morning that Greater Brisbane's three-day snap lockdown to stop the spread of the UK COVID-19 variant will be lifted at 6:00pm tonight, with some restrictions remaining until 22 January for the Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan City, Moreton Bay and Redlands areas.

The remaining restrictions are based on health advice to make sure that the incubation period of 14 days has totally lapsed before QLD returns to ‘COVID’ normal.

From 6:00pm tonight until January 22nd, those in the Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan City, Moreton Bay and Redlands areas must carry a face mask on them at all times. The mask will need to be worn in;

  • Shopping centres
  • Supermarkets
  • Retail outlets and indoor markets
  • Hospitals and aged care facilities
  • Churches and places of worship
  • Libraries
  • Indoor recreational facilities, such as cinemas and art galleries
  • Gyms
  • Public transport, taxis and ride shares

In indoor workplaces where physical distance can be maintained, a mask will not be required however where you can't physically distance, a mask must be worn.

You do not have to wear a mask if you are in your own home or if you have your family in your own vehicle.

The QLD Government has stated that the intention is to keep the community safe so for the next 10 days, please participate in mask wearing in the above environments plus any other spaces that may become crowded.

QLD company owned stores and sites (Bandag, Warehouse, QTS Wacol)

All Bridgestone sites will resume as business as usual from tomorrow with caution and strict hygiene maintained.

In the areas of Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan City, Moreton Bay and Redlands, we ask that customer and general public facing staff continue to wear masks when dealing with others such as front counter, accepting deliveries etc. Customer numbers in stores should be limited to allow for physical distancing and all customers must wear a mask in store.

QLD office-based teammates

Queensland office-based teammates can remain working from home until January 22nd. As WFH is not a Government requirement, you are able to return to the office immediately if you prefer, and the ability to work from home will be subject to the needs of your business area. If returning to an office environment, please ensure you maintain a physical distance from your colleagues.

Until January 22nd or further notice, Family Channel, Customer and Store visits in the five areas listed; Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan City, Moreton Bay and Redlands areas, should only occur if deemed business critical.

Planned intrastate visits outside of the above listed areas can continue as planned.

QLD Family Channel

Our Queensland Family Channel stores may return to regular servicing and for all employees within Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan City, Moreton Bay and Redlands, masks must still be worn while at work.

Family Channel visits in the five areas listed; Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan City, Moreton Bay and Redlands areas, should only occur if deemed business critical.
