1977 - A major $7 million expansion of the Salisbury Tyre Plant is announced to take production to 6,400 steel belted radial tyres per day.

1978 - Salisbury Tyre Plant builds the first Australian 60 series, high performance steel radial, the Wild Cat 60.

1979 - The Computer Cat is launched, the most advanced tyre yet made in Australia.

1979 - Salisbury Tyre Plant manufactures Australia's first steel monoply truck tyre, the R40, soon to become the industry standard.
