Product Safety Recall

Bridgestone Australia is conducting a voluntary product safety recall for certain Duravis R 660 Eco 215/65R16C 109/107T van tyres.

Bridgestone Australia is conducting a voluntary product safety recall for certain Duravis R 660 Eco 215/65R16C 109/107T van tyres. The subject tyres can be recognised by DOT week codes 4323–4425 on the sidewall and a “Made in Turkey” marking.

The subject tyres were supplied as original equipment to Ford for designated light commercial vehicle models. They were also imported as replacement tyres for vehicles.

The issue was identified through ongoing global monitoring and quality assessment of our product. In rugged and wet environments, the subject tyre may be more susceptible to cuts and partial penetration. In a small number of cases later in the tyre’s life, this could lead to tread deformation or separation. In isolated cases, rapid air loss could occur.

We are proactively engaging with regulators, partners and customers to organise free of charge replacement of the subject tyres. Our priority remains the safety and well-being of our customers and the integrity of our products.

What should consumers do.

If your tyres are the original tyres on the vehicle (original equipment) and are part of the recall – please contact your local Bridgestone tyre store to arrange tyre replacement at a time convenient to you.

If your tyres are not the original tyres (you have previously had them replaced) and are part of the recall, please contact your original tyre retailer or your local Bridgestone tyre store, to arrange tyre replacement at a time convenient to you.

  •   FAQs iconHow do I read my DOT code?

A dot week code is the week / year that a tyre was manufactured, the code range between 4323–4425 represents manufacture between the 43rd week of 2023, and the 44th week of 2025.

As an example, a DOT code of 1024 is included in the recall, the 10th week, of 2024.

The full range of DOT codes included in the recall are listed below:

    4323, 4423, 4523, 4623, 4723, 4823, 4923, 0224, 0324, 0424, 0524, 0624, 0724, 0824, 0924, 1024, 1124, 1224, 1324, 1524, 1624, 1724, 1824, 1924, 2024, 2124, 2224, 2324, 2524, 2624, 2724, 2824, 2924, 3124, 3224, 3324, 3424, 3524, 3624, 3724, 3824, 3924, 4024, 4124, 4224, 4324, 4424, 4524, 4624, 4724, 4824, 4924, 5024, 5124, 0125, 0225, 0325, 0425,0525, 0625, 0725, 0825, 0925, 1025, 1125, 1225, 1425, 1525, 1625, 1725, 1825, 1925, 2025, 2125, 2225, 2325, 2425, 2525, 2625, 2725, 2825, 2925, 3025, 3125, 3225, 3325, 3425, 3625, 3725, 3825, 3925, 4025, 4125, 4225, 4325, 4425
  •   FAQs iconWhat is the reason for product recall
The subject tyre is more susceptible to cuts and partial penetrations than anticipated when used in rugged and wet environments. In a small number of cases, these cuts can lead to moisture intrusion and subsequent oxidation of the tyre belt. Resulting corrosion may create a separation area which could grow over time. This may present as a tyre bulge, tread deformation and/or additional tread cuts which may become apparent on the tread surface.
  •   FAQs iconWhat are the hazards to consumers
Extended use of the tyre with moisture intrusion and oxidation of the belt package can, as shown in a small number of cases overseas, lead to tread deformation and if use continues without detection, it may end in tread delamination.

Bridgestone has also determined that rust induced tread separation may result in rapid air loss during vehicle operation. This could affect vehicle handling and could increase the risk of an accident. These events have not occurred in Australia or New Zealand and have not resulted in any injury or a road collision/other accident to date in cases overseas.
  •   FAQs iconOn what vehicles were the tyres fitted as original equipment?
The subject tyre was exclusively designed and supplied as original equipment to Ford for use on the Transit Custom (model year 2024 and 2025) and Tourneo Custom (model year 2024 and 2025).
  •   FAQs iconHow can I get my tyres replaced?
If your tyres are the original tyres on the vehicle (original equipment) and are part of the recall – please contact your local Bridgestone tyre store to arrange tyre replacement at a time convenient to you.

If your tyres are not the original tyres (you have previously had them replaced) and are part of the recall, please contact your original tyre retailer or your local Bridgestone tyre store, to arrange tyre replacement at a time convenient to you.
  •   FAQs iconHow soon will my tyres be replaced and will it cost me anything?
We will endeavour to replace tyres as soon as possible and replacement will be free of charge, including spare tyres.
  •   FAQs iconAre my tyres safe to drive on?
Until the tyres are replaced, we advise that the vehicle is driven with appropriate care, particularly avoiding demanding operating conditions where possible. If you notice any unusual tyre behaviour, warning signs or loss of pressure, you should stop driving and immediately call the hotline provided. Alternatively, you can call into a Bridgestone tyre store at any time for a safety check.
  •   FAQs iconHow do I know if my tyres are part of the recall?
By reviewing the tyre size, tyre make, origin of manufacture and DOT range as per the image shown, you should be able to determine if your tyre is part of the recall.
