Bridgestone Ecopia

Bridgestone are globally renowned for the quality, performance and safety of their products. Now, not only with initiatives such as Make Cars Green and truck tyre retreading, Bridgestone are doing their bit to assist in reducing the impact of motor vehicles on the environment.

Their latest green project is the creation of Ecopia, a low rolling resistance tyre.

The name Ecopia is a blend of two words:

Utopia - Ideal / Perfect

So what is low rolling resistance?

Put simply, low rolling resistance means that due to the components of the tyre, primarily its compound, it rolls more easily that a standard tyre.

A tyre that rolls more easily means it needs less energy to keep moving.

Less energy means less fuel consumption, and less fuel consumption means less CO2 emissions, therefore reducing the impact on our environment.

The Ecopia tyre maintains the premium characteristics that you would expect from a Bridgestone tyre both in safety and performance, but has the added bonus of contributing to reducing the effect of CO2 on the environment, as well as reducing your fuel consumption - which is good for your back pocket!
