Bridgestone helps Wiehrl tear up the others in Round 4 of Drift series

With super sticky Bridgestone Potenza RE01Rs and RE55s providing total control, the Autosalon Industry car topped the field in qualifying and took the final, giving Wiehrl the maximum 500 points - the fist time that's happened this year.
New to the series in '07, Wiehrl had been struggling but it all came together at Ipswich.
"It was a big weight off the shoulders, a big relief that everything finally came into line and we got a result," Fernando said.
"To be honest, the Bridgestone?s have held everything together for us so far this year. We tweak things after every round and finally the rest of the car is coming up to the standard set by the tyres."
Wiehrl clinched his first win by beating Robbie Bolger in the V8 Holden Monaro in the final, and his inaugural victory lifts him from tenth to fifth in the overall standings.
Second place, however, was good enough to see Bolger move from fifth to the top of the rankings.
"You know, the smoke we put out in the race was incredible. It helps with the judges but the crowds really loves it and when you have the crowd on your side, you can?t lose," Wiehrl smiled.
Bridgestone has used the technology behind the race winning Potenza brand, also famous from Formula One racing, to create its new Potenza Adrenalin RE001 - a tyre that will deliver control to any driver, in any car, at any speed, through any corner.
And they are not just for high performance machines - the Adrenalin range suits a vast array of cars on Australian roads including anything from smaller vehicles such as Corolla, Lancer and WRX through to Falcons, Commodores and other large sedans.
